BELLA’S LONELY NIGHT

CHAPTER ONE (Life is how you make it)

On a hot sunny Afternoon, The Okoe family relaxing in their homes as Mr&Mrs Okoe sat watching Television as the News Broadcaster spoke about the notorious Gangsters that keep Robbing and Rapping young girls out at night. As Mr&Mrs Okoe sat and attentively listened to the news as the horrifying scenes were shown of these innocent victims. Bella was in the kitchen cooking and listening to songs so she was totally oblivious of the happenings on the news and didn’t know that some of the friends she has spotted Lucas with once were arrested in conjunction to these crimes. As Mr&Mrs Okoe know Bella likes sneaking out at night when they are asleep, So Mr. Okoe shouted on top of his voice, Bella ‘But she hardly heard them or anyone at all. They decided to suspend the topic till dinner at the table to discuss it as family. Bella saw the light of the cooker go off; she took off her headsets and decided to dish out the food for dinner.

Later On at dinner Bella and her parents shared Grace as they began to enjoy their meal, Mr. Okoe was first to speak at the table.

Mr. Okoe: Bella, I want you to be extra cautious when walking in the neighborhood at night.

Bella: Why Dad, the police are always at their checkpoints protecting us civilians.

Mrs. Okoe: Bella, she shouted for once - listen to your father without questioning his advice.

Bella: But Mom that’s the truth, because of the checkpoints the police have implemented we are safe around here and outside.

Mr. Okoe: Just this afternoon we heard on the news of the famous gang harassing and stealing from people again, JUST BE CAREFUL! That’s all I have to say.

Bella: (thinking to herself that her Dad made up the news story so she will stop going out at night) Replies, OKAY DAD, OKAY MOM, I will not walk around at night. (So they will stop talking and allow dinner to go smoothly without any more talking about my outing.)  After agreeing that’s exactly what happened.

CHAPTER 2 (enjoy life while you still have it)

Early Morning Mary Bella’s best friend called Bella on the phone.

Bella: Hey, you good?

Mary: yeah, guess you are too, what are you up to, are you getting ready?

Bella: yeah, almost, guess what happened during dinner, my parents cautioned me on going out at night.

Mary: giggles and huffs, saying, yes they will forget when they were off our ages they had all the fun and parties.

Bella: Yes they did, I just agreed so they will allow us to continue our meal without arguing.

Mary: Yes you did the right thing, Anyways I’m almost in front of your house be ready when I get there. Hope you will be going to Lucas’ party tonight.

Bella: I’m almost done; we will discuss that party after break. Hurry, we are almost late.

In 30 mins, An Audi was parked in front of my house looking through the window of my room I knew that’s Mary, listening in or blasting songs from her car as usual, I hugged and bid goodbyes to Mom and Dad, walked out of the house into the car, the drive wasn’t long just a 20 mins drive to the school, I listened to the nice songs as I sing along not even realizing we are parked at the parking spot in school.

We rushed inside as there will be a roll call in 20 mins and we didn’t want to be late. I forgot to mention Mary is in my class. After which there was mathematics class, I hated maths with passion I’m more of the creative writer and musical type. Mary on the other hand loved maths as she was busily answering and asking questions and was very attentive to the maths class. After a very long 30 mins lecture, It was time for a break.
