INTRODUCTION

Welcome to this edition of the Refreshing Moments’ 31 Days Topical Devotional (PEACE)

Our focus throughout this booklet shall be on PEACE. I pray that the Peace of God that passes all understanding will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I encourage you to maximise each day’s lesson. It is powerful to open the Bible and read, it sharpens your wisdom because you will be rubbing minds with the all-wise God. Light, Wisdom, and Understanding will be rubbed on you like it was for Daniel - Dan.5:11. You’ll be at the helm of your affairs and circumstances.

Please open the scriptures and read yourself. It’s just so Beautiful and Refreshing! Every scripture gives PEACE when we attend to it with all our hearts, because Jesus Christ is the Prince of PEACE, and He is the Word personified. (Isa.9:6; Col.3:15; Jn.1:1-14)

· Be Born Again. If you aren’t or you are unsure, please take the next prayer.

· Know that life is spiritual and every moment in God’s Presence is a great investment into destiny.

· Christianity is powerless without the correct knowledge and application of the Truth, that is, the Word of God (2Tim.2:15; Jn.17:17; Jn.8:32). Therefore, each day of this Devotional, has scriptures to read, meditate on, ponder upon, assimilate and apply. They may be useful immediately or stored for future usage. No investment in the Word of God is a waste. It is always useful. (Jn.14:26)

· There are Prayer Points that will enhance your Prayer Altar. You can also add your prayers to them. They are just a guide to ensure you pray effectively daily

· There are also Declarations you can make daily; you can add more to it. (As you say it, you see it, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Is.43:26; Num.14:28; Pro.18:21)

· In addition to your devotions, at least a Psalm a day and a chapter of Proverbs is good for you. Psalms help us to worship God and reveal His Power and Ability, while Proverbs give Wisdom for excellent living.

To Be Born Again.

Please consciously and sincerely declare:

Lord Jesus, I come to You today, I am a sinner. I believe You died and rose again to save me from my sins. Forgive me all my sins, wash me with Your Blood, and please give me a New Beginning, from this moment. Thank You for saving me. I believe I am born again. I am saved. I am now a child of God. I declare You Jesus as my Lord, Saviour, Shepherd, and Overseer of my soul; please Take Your Place, in my life. (Jn.3:16; Mt.1:21; Rm.10:10; 2Cor.5:17; 1Pet.2:25)

I pray with you:

Father, thank You for this precious soul, thank You for saving him/her. This shall be the dawn of a new day for him/her in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Old things: old sins, old failures, old troubles, old negative lifestyles, and experiences pass away, and all things become new for him/her, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Sin shall no longer have dominion over him/her, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

(Please ensure you join a Bible-believing and preaching Church around you and be planted in the house of God. Always fellowship with the brethren to keep your fire burning. Live ready, Jesus is coming soon. No more careless living. God will help you, as you also take responsibility in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Jn.8:31-32; Ps.92:13-15; Heb.10:25; 2Cor.6:14-7:1)

REFLECTION

There will always be tribulations in this world, but Jesus Christ admonishes us to be of good cheer, optimistic, and confident in Him that He has overcome. So don’t be surprised at the challenges that come your way or that are prevalent in our world today.

Choose to maximise the PEACE that Jesus offers; it is so Refreshing.

Peace, I leave with you; My Peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (Jn.14:27)

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have Peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (Jn.16:33)

No matter the chaos in the world, with Jesus in the boat of your life, PEACE is assured and the storms shall be stilled. (Mark 4:35-41; Psalm 46)

PRAYERS

· May the Peace of God that passes all understanding guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Phil.4:7)

· I pray that I will never be ashamed, but will have complete boldness so that now as always Christ will be glorified in my body, in my thoughts, words, and actions, in Jesus’ Name. (Phil.1:20)

· Father, God of hope fill me with all Joy and Peace in believing, that I may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rm.15:13)

· Father, I ask for daily grace to live in Peace and Harmony with everyone. The God of Love and Peace will always be with me, in Jesus’ Name. (2Cor.13:11)

· Father, as I daily open my Bible to read, please give me Light, Understanding, and Wisdom of Heaven, in Jesus’ Name. (Dan.5:11; Mt.7:7-8; Jn.1:1-5; Ps.119:105,144; Jam.1:5; Jam.3:17-18)

DECLARATIONS

· The Lord of Peace Himself gives me Peace always by all means. The Lord is with me. (2Thes.3:16)

· I follow Peace with all men. It is my choice at every point in time. (Heb.12:14-15)

· My mind is stayed on God and I am kept in Perfect Peace because I trust in Him. (Is.26:3)

· As a child of God, I am a Peacemaker. (Mt.5:9; Jam.3:18)

· The Peace of Christ rules in my heart, and I am thankful. (Col.3:15)

31 DAYS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DAY 1

Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (NKJV)

Know that Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. He is excellent at being peaceful and ensuring Peace. He is Peace personified! At His Word and Instance, Peace prevails – Mk.4:35-41; Jn.20:19.

Have and Keep Him jealously in the boat of your life and destiny.

DAY 2

1 Peter 1:2 - … Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

As a child of God, Grace and Peace are yours in abundance. Live and Walk in that reality. Get rid of turmoil, noise, conflict, irritation, agitation, distress, and war (internal and external).

By the Holy Spirit, promote Love, restfulness, peace, tranquility, calmness and composure.

DAY 3
2 Peter 1:2 - Grace and Peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. (NIV)

The more we get to know God and Jesus Christ, the more Grace and Peace multiply in us. You just find serenity, calmness, and Love flows in and through you.

So, feast more on the Word of God in the Bible, read, study, meditate, do, and share it with others – 1 Tim.4:13-15.

I see God multiply His Peace on you on all sides, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

DAY 4

John 14:27 – Peace, I leave with you, My Peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (NKJV)

Jesus left us with Peace, not trouble. So, don’t allow trouble or fear in your heart or around you. Like Jesus Christ, let everything about you exude Peace – Jn.20:21.

Pray Peace and tranquility into your life, family, territory, and endeavours, in Jesus’ Name. Be PEACEFUL!

DAY 5
Romans 12:18 - If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. (NKJV)

This scripture indicates that there could be times when you won’t agree with error, godlessness, or denial of Christ or God. If you are asked to do what will not glorify God, you won’t say because you are living in Peace with all men, you succumb to evil and error, that will not be wise at all and it will destroy you.

Be Prayerful and let the Word of God and His Spirit lead and guide you every time. (Ps.119:105)

DAY 6

Isaiah 26:3 - You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You Because he trusts in You. (NKJV)

There are so many things that can make our minds stray, troubled, agitated, worried, or fret. From social media posts to the various negative news we see and hear on TV and radio. Then the angry people we meet on our way to work and all sorts within and without.

When we guard our hearts and thoughts with the Word of God, we can be in charge and not the negativities. We can cast down the negative imaginations and everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. (Prov.4:20-27; 2Cor.10:4-6)

DAY 7

1 Thessalonians 5:23 - Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (NKJV)

Our God is a God of Peace and we are made in His image and likeness, so we are supposed to be People of Peace. When we are not living in Peace, we are living contrary to God and are not reflecting His nature.

But it takes God’s Grace and Power to be able to be a Person of Peace. So, Pray and keep Praying as you feast on God’s Word that multiplies Peace in and through us, as we saw on Day 3. (2Pet.1:2; Zech.4:6)

DAY 8

Matthew 5:9 - Blessed are the Peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

The peacemaker initiates reconciliation when others have wronged them and is quick to repent when they have wronged others. Peacemaking takes a commitment to move toward it.

Choose to initiate Peace. It could be humiliating sometimes, but it is refreshing and rewarding. It is also worth your while. It keeps you happy and on top of situations with no fear at all. (Pro.28:1)

Pray for Grace and Power to be a Peacemaker.

DAY 9

Philippians 4:9 - The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. (NKJV)

As we follow biblical examples of people who are ahead of us in the faith, checking and confirming with scriptures that the things they show and teach us are in line with the Truth of the Word of God, we shall be blessed and the God of Peace will be with us.

When He is with us, no one can make trouble against us, they will be silenced. (Job 34:29; Acts 17:10-11)

DAY 10

2 Thessalonians 3:16 - Now may the Lord of Peace Himself give you Peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. (NKJV)

God is the God of Peace. He is the Source of true and lasting Peace. That is why He is the One we are to consult for the Peace that surpasses all understanding.

That Peace keeps us stable, serene, and in charge of all situations and circumstances, no matter how tough they may seem. (Pray today’s scripture into your life till it becomes your reality and lifestyle).

DAY 11

Colossians 3:15 - Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to Peace. And be thankful. (NIV)

We are called to Peace: to think, talk, act, and live in Peace, the Peace of Jesus Christ.

Don’t scatter the Body. Build the Body of Christ with your Peaceful lifestyle and attitude.

Pray for Grace to do so.

DAY 12

John 16:33 - “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have Peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (NIV)
It is in Christ Jesus that we have the assurance of Peace. He is the surest and safest bunker with which to hide from the storms of life.

Our continuous Victory is assured in Christ Jesus. His Name is a Strong Tower to run to for our desired and required safety per times. (Prov.18:10; Ps.61:3; 2Sam.22:1-3)

DAY 13

Romans 5:1-3 - Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have Peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. (BSB)

We have Peace with God through our Faith in Christ Jesus. Our Faith in Christ Jesus is what brings us Salvation so that our Peace with God can be established. (Jn.3:16; Jn.6:28-29; Phil.3:7-10; Rm.10:8-11)

There is no True and Lasting Peace without Faith in Christ Jesus. I encourage you to believe in Jesus Christ today, believe in your heart, and confess Him with your mouth (you can please take the Prayer: “To Be Born Again” at the beginning of this booklet).

DAY 14

Hebrews 12:14 - Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

We need to make every effort to live in peace with everyone; Try: don’t give up! I know what this means. There are many times you will have to ignore the wrong against you and tell yourself you didn’t see it, it didn’t happen. This way you can live above hurts and offences. How many do you want to see, count, and take a record of? You will just kill yourself for nothing and life will go on with no apologies. I adviced myself… I am advicing you too, while God is commanding us all from that scripture.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you and strengthen you. It is possible!

DAY 15

Philippians 4:6-7 - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (NKJV)

The Peace of God calms the storms. In His Peace, you can get clarity and direction on the issue(s). Anxiety, worry, fretting, etc will only complicate the matter.

Like the scripture above says, amid that tough unbearable troubling situation, Be Thankful, Praiseful, and Prayerful. This hands the battle over to God and all you will have to do is to declare and carry your victory, HALLELUJAH!!! (Col.3:15; Mk.11:22-25; Acts 16:25-40; 2Chron.20)

DAY 16

1 Peter 3:8-11 – Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. (NIV)
Look for Peace and actively desire it.

A Peaceful person will always be loving, courteous, pitiful, and united with others. He/she knows that he/she cannot do life alone. We need one another and everyone has their values, virtues, strengths, and weaknesses; so, we accept one another and help one another to become stronger and overcome our weaknesses.

Please eat today’s text until it becomes your daily life and living. (Jer.15:16)

DAY 17

2 Corinthians 13:11 – Finally, brethren, farewell. Be Perfect, Be of Good Comfort, Be of one mind, live in Peace; and the God of Love and Peace shall be with you.

Our God is a God of Love and Peace, anything contrary to Love and Peace, He is not there. When you lose your peace about something, you are walking and working without God. One of the greatest tests of His Presence with you per time is a great Peace.

When you are embittered, angry, offended, proud, and boastful, God has left you behind, you are on your own (OYO).

Father, establish me in Your Love and Peace; let it be my attitude and lifestyle, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

DAY 18

James 3:18 - And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. (NIV)

Are you a Peacemaker? Please don’t be tired. You are making the world a better place and representing God.

Are you struggling with being Peaceful and making Peace? God sees you and wants to help you get out of that situation. All you need to do is come to Him with that heavy hurting offended and embittered heart, He will give you REST and Liberty from it. He will teach and empower you to live peaceably with all kinds of people, peace within yourself, and Peace with God Himself. Please read and do Mat.11:28-30; 1Pet.5:7-11.

DAY 19

Romans 14:19 - Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. (NIV)

It’s beautiful and so refreshing when we live in harmony with others and build each other up. It’s power! It enhances progress, victories, successes, and conquests. The devil and his agents are eliminated, especially in homes and families, churches, and units in church. We can accomplish more.

Father, I ask for fresh Grace to always do what will lead to Peace and the Edification of all I come in contact with. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

DAY 20

Galatians 5:22-25 - But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. (ESV)

One Fruit, many virtues. Every side and virtue of the Fruit of the Spirit is important, especially the virtue of Peace that we are considering in this booklet. The Holy Spirit in us is the one that will quicken us to manifest these virtues. The more we grow in the Spirit, in Prayers, Praise, the Word, Fellowship with the brethren, and so on, the more these virtues grow in us. (Rm.8:11)

Ask God for the Holy Spirit afresh – Lk.11:13; Mt.3:11-12.

DAY 21

Romans 8:6 - The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is Life and Peace. (NIV)

As many as are led by the Spirit, they are the sons of God. The Holy Spirit will always lead us in the direction of the Truth of the Word of God that gives Life abundantly – Rm.8:14; Jn.1:1-5; Jn.10:10.

The Word of God is also the food of our spirit man, the real person who has a soul and lives in a body called me/you. So, let’s give the Word of God more attention; it will give us victory over the flesh—Psalms 119:9–11.

DAY 22

Romans 16:19-20 - For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore, I am glad on your behalf, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil . And the God of Peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. (NKJV)

God of Peace will crush Satan under our feet very shortly. So don’t give up on living peacefully with everyone. Be the Agent of Peace. The Peacemaker, not the troublemaker. Choose Peace every time and everywhere.

Ask God to help you – Zech.4:6-7.

DAY 23

Proverbs 16:7 - When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. (NKJV)

This scripture indicates that we don’t need to waste our life and time seeing hurts, offences, or keeping their records. We need to invest our lives and time in how to please God, and when we do and are engulfed with that, those who oppose us will bow to God’s sovereignty in our lives.

Receive God’s Grace to be pleasing to Him. Find out more about the things that please God and do them.

DAY 24

Psalm 29:11 - The LORD gives Strength to His people; the LORD Blesses His people with Peace. (NIV)

Receive Grace and Strength on every side, in Jesus’s Name. Be Blessed with God’s Peace that surpasses all understanding.

Our text says His people, so you have to be His person, one of His people. Are you one? Are you Born Again? If No, please take the Prayer at the beginning of this booklet. If Yes, then please continue, don’t stop, and don’t give up. The race is worth it. It is worth your all. (2Cor.12:9; 1Cor.9:24-27)

DAY 25

Proverbs 12:20 - Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote Peace have joy. (NIV)

May the Blood of Jesus Christ purge our consciences from dead works to serve the Living God. Every form of deceit be rooted out of our hearts, only Truth is permitted there, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. (Heb.9:14)

Promote Peace anywhere you find yourself.

DAY 26

Psalm 37:37 - Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace. (NIV)

A blameless person is Peaceful, and that is why he/she is blameless. He/she is good, honest, upright, innocent, has integrity, and walks with God. (Gen.17:1-2; Lk.8:5-15; Eph.4:3)

It is a continuous walk unto the perfect day – Pro.4:18. Father, by the Holy Spirit, help us, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. (Pray for help and put to work the word received).

DAY 27

Psalm 85:8 - I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly. (NKJV)
Great Peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them - Ps.119:165; this is one of my best scriptures. It has helped to shape my life and delivered me from the power of offence. Anytime I am offended, I see that I am short of the Word of God, I refuel/refill, and the things that could have been offences ordinarily just fizzle out.
The more the Word of God in our hearts, the fewer the offences there. We can’t successfully keep the Word and offence together in the same place unless we are deceiving ourselves.

Choke out those offences with the Truth of the Word of God - Jn.8:30-36; Jn.17:17.

DAY 28

Isaiah 26:12 - LORD, you establish Peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us (NIV)

God is the One that works in us to will and to do according to His good pleasure. He will establish Peace for you on every side. That issue of concern is stilled by the Peace of God, in Jesus’ Name. (Mk.4:35-41; Ps.46; Phil.2:13-16)

May the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to Peace. Be thankful. SHALOM

DAY 29

Isaiah 54:10 - For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

This scripture came ahead of a major challenge in my life and till today, I can say that God’s Kindness and Peace have never left me, because of His MERCY! I am most grateful to our Good Kind and Loving Father, for His Faithfulness.

You can hang your life on God and His Word and be rest assured!

The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace – Ex.14:14.

DAY 30

Romans 14:17 - For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but Righteousness and Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit. (NKJV)

The Kingdom of God Almighty is Righteousness and Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit. Nothing more. When we walk in these, we are established in God’s Kingdom. But if a person refuses the righteousness that is by faith in Christ Jesus, and causes trouble, conflict, strife, offences, and bitterness; he/she will lack Joy of the Holy Spirit and the person is just as good as dead. Because you will be sad, sorrowful, miserable, depressed, and weak - because it is the Joy of the Lord that gives strength – Neh.8:10.

Our God is not a God of disorder/confusion but of PEACE – 1 Cor.14:33.

DAY 31

Isaiah 55:12 - You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. (NIV)

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rm.15:13)

Just trust in Him, and don’t be wicked! (Is.48:22)

MAY THE GOD OF PEACE BE WITH YOU ALWAYS, IN JESUS’ NAME. AMEN. (Rm.15:33)

May this God of Peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, through the Blood of the everlasting covenant, make you Perfect in every Good work to do His Will, working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be Glory forever and ever. Amen. – Heb.13:20-21.
