INTRODUCTION

Welcome to this edition of the Refreshing Moments’ 31 Days Topical Devotional – TREES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Righteousness is Freedom from guilt and sin. True Righteousness comes from Faith in Christ Jesus – Philippians 3:9.

Our focus throughout this booklet will be on the TREE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. I pray that we shall be effective trees of righteousness, bearing good fruits for all to see and glorify God our Father, and bringing more people to salvation, joy, and peace in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I encourage you to maximise each day’s lesson. It is powerful to open the Bible and read. It sharpens your wisdom because you will be rubbing minds with the all-wise God. Light, Wisdom, and Understanding will be rubbed on you like they were for Daniel (Dan.5:11). You’ll be at the helm of your affairs and circumstances and a blessing to other people.

Please open each day’s devotional and read the scriptures yourself from your Bible. They’re just so Beautiful and Refreshing!

There are assignments for you to do on some of the days. This will help you to be more intentional in your study of the Word of God, and Prayers.

Enjoy each day and Be REFRESHED!

Jesus Christ is LORD!

To Get the Best of this Devotional

·         Be Born Again. If you are not, or you are not sure, please take the next prayer.

·         Know that life is spiritual and every moment in God’s Presence is a great investment into destiny.

·         Christianity is powerless without the correct knowledge and application of the Truth, that is, the Word of God (2Tim.2:15; Jn.17:17; Jn.8:32). Therefore, each day of this Devotional, has scriptures to read, meditate on, ponder upon, assimilate and apply. They may be useful immediately or stored for future usage. No investment in the Word of God is a waste. It is always useful. (Jn.14:26)

·         There are Prayer Points that will enhance your Prayer Altar. You can also add your prayers to them. They are just a guide to ensure you pray effectively daily

·         There are also Declarations you can make daily; you can add more to it. (As you say it, you see it, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Is.43:26; Num.14:28; Pro.18:21)

·           In addition to your devotions, at least a Psalm a day and a chapter of Proverbs is good for you. Psalms help us to worship God and reveal His Power and Ability, while Proverbs give Wisdom for excellent living.

To Be Born Again.

Please consciously and sincerely declare:

Lord Jesus, I come to You today, I am a sinner. I believe You died and rose again to save me from my sins. Forgive me all my sins, wash me with Your Blood, and please give me a New Beginning, from this moment. Thank You for saving me. I believe I am born again. I am saved. I am now a child of God. I declare You Jesus as my Lord, Saviour, Shepherd, and Overseer of my soul; please Take Your Place, in my life. (Jn.3:16; Mt.1:21; Rm.10:10; 2Cor.5:17; 1Pet.2:25)

I pray with you:

Father, thank You for this precious soul, thank You for saving him/her. This shall be the dawn of a new day for him/her in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Old things: old sins, old failures, old troubles, old negative lifestyles, and experiences pass away, and all things become new for him/her, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Sin shall no longer have dominion over him/her, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

(Please ensure you join a Bible-believing and preaching Church around you and be planted in the house of God. Always fellowship with the brethren to keep your fire burning. Live ready, Jesus is coming soon. No more careless living. God will help you, as you also take responsibility in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Jn.8:31-32; Ps.92:13-15; Heb.10:25; 2Cor.6:14-7:1)

Holy Ghost Baptism

This is the infilling of the Holy Spirit into us and the enduement with power; thereby quickening our Victorious Christian walk with God, and making us confident and bold witnesses for Jesus Christ and His Kingdom, everywhere we are found. (Lk.24:49; Acts1:8)

Now that you are Born Again, you need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Once there is a desire to be baptized, this can be your first request: Ask God for the Holy Spirit – Lk.11:13; Ask Jesus to baptize you – Mt.3:11-12; Open up to the Holy Spirit to fill you up and let His river flow from your belly; give voice to whatever He gives to your spirit from within – Jn.7:37, Acts2:4,38. If you are ready, you can please take the prayers below.

Prayers:

·           Father, give me the Holy Spirit, Jesus Baptise me with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit fill me up with Your Power, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

·           Father, let the Spirit, Life, and Power of the Word enter into me every time I read, listen, study, and meditate on the Word. (Jn.6:63; 2Cor.3:6; 1Cor.2:4-5)

·           Fill my cup, Lord, I lift it up Lord, come and quench this thirsting of my soul. Breath of Heaven, fill me to the brim, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

·           Open your mouth wide and give voice to whatever He is giving you from within. Don’t be shy or skeptical, it will not make sense to your natural mind, but you are speaking great mysteries to God. (Ps.81:10; 1Cor.14:2,4)

·           Keep speaking the words that well up from within your spirit; it is called speaking in tongues – it is powerful, don’t let it fade. Also, keep building up your most holy Faith, by Praying in Tongues – Jude1:20-25.

REFLECTION

God has made us trees of righteousness, the plantings of the Lord, that He may be glorified. We are to display God’s splendour and beauty. He is beautiful in all situations, the Joy of the whole earth. (Is.61:3; Is.33:17; Ps.48:1-2; Ps.50:2)

No matter what is happening now, whether in your life or in the world today, you are supposed to be a tree of righteousness, that produces shade, raw materials, and fruits that other people will utilize.

When you are walking in the afternoon and the sun is quite scorchy, you will naturally look out for shade from the sun. Most times, we look out for trees with shade and run under for coolness.

Trees give wood that can be used as different raw materials, for cooking, making medicines, and furniture. Many trees produce fruits, and the fruit from the tree describes the tree – Mango tree, orange tree, guava tree, etc. By our fruits we are known and described – Mt.7:16-20.

As a tree, everything about us has a purpose. Our leaves, fruits, bark, branches, roots, stems, etc. Read about trees; useful trees, see their functions, and create a mental picture of yourself. So that when next people are trying to pluck leaves or fruits from you (in terms of your products, results, and impact), be grateful to God for the privilege to be useful. HALLELUJAH!

I pray that through this devotional we all will be empowered to be effective trees of righteousness, the plantings of God that will bring Him Glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Righteousness promotes Peace. (Is.61:3; Is.60:20-21; Is.32:17)

PRAYERS

·           Father, by the Blood of Jesus Christ, purge me of whatever puts a question mark on my life and Christian walk, everything that makes men despise me and/or my salvation. Set me FREE from every waterless pit, in Jesus’ Name. (Heb.9:14)

·           Father, make me excellent in my walk with You – in my Prayer life, in my attention and obedience to the Word of God, in my relationships and my attitudes, in Jesus’ Name. (Mt.7:7-8; Is.46:12-13; Mt.4:19)

·           Father, by the Holy Spirit, please help me to be spiritually sensitive, as I follow through this study of the Tree of Righteousness. I shall produce good fruits that will display Your splendour, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. (Is.49:3)

·           Holy Spirit, please quicken the Fruit of the Spirit in me daily. Let Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Self-Control, be quickened in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen – Gal.5:22-23.

·           Father, let the Fruit of Your Righteousness be implanted in me, so that the acts of practical righteousness will flow out of me, in Jesus’ Name. (Jam.3:18)

DECLARATIONS

·           I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, sin has no dominion over me – 2 Cor.5:21; Rm.1:16-17

·           I flourish as a Palm tree. My Fruit of Righteousness is a tree of Life – Ps.92:12-13; Prov.11:30.

·           I am as bold as a Lion – Prov.28:1; Prov.22:1.

·           I am delivered from every kind of trouble. I am delivered by knowledge. (Pro.11:8-9; Dan.11:32; Hos.4:6)

·           My steps are ordered by the Lord. Even if I fall seven times I shall rise again. (Ps.37:23-24; Pro.24:16-18; Micah 7:8)

31 DAYS DEVOTIONAL

DAY 1

Isaiah 61:3 - To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

As a Tree, we have Roots, Stems, Branches, Leaves, and Fruits. To bear good fruits, we need to take root downwards in the Word of God, so we can bear fruits upwards for people to see and pluck from. The more we bring forth fruits and they are plucked the more useful and relevant we become. (Is.37:31; Is.27:6; Hos.14:5-6)

It is quite demanding to be a tree, but very rewarding. Your beauty comes forth and you flourish amongst others.

DAY 2

Matthew 7:16-17 - By their fruit, you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  (NIV)

Our actions, results, and all we accept and allow are our fruits. What do you allow? Are they in line with the Truth of the Word of God? Are they good by the standard of the Truth of the Word of God in the Bible? These are the things people see and use to define, describe, and recognize us.

No guava tree will produce mango fruit. Even when grafted the fruit cannot be exactly guava or mango again.

In case your “tree” has been bad, worry not, come to Jesus Christ today and He will make you clean inside out. (Mt.11:28-30; Mt.1:21; Heb.9:14)

DAY 3

Matthew 7:18 - A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit . (NIV)

Characteristics develop naturally as a tree grows and can be influenced by external factors such as light stimuli, site and climate influences, nutrient supply, external forces, and stress.

As trees of righteousness, we need to daily get Light from the Sun of Righteousness, Jesus Christ, the Word of God – John.1:1-5; Malachi.4:2. The closer we are aligned to His Light (Mt.5:14-16), the brighter we shine like the moon when positioned to the natural sun. (Ps.36:9-10)

Pray to draw closer to God’s Light, the Word of God. (Jam.4:7-10)

DAY 4

Matthew 7:19 - Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit, you will recognize them. (NIV)

John 15:1-8 clearly explains our text for today. It says “ I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard. He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful.  You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.

I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.

We must bear good fruits and be valuable to God and His Kingdom, or else we will be cut off from Him, and dry off. That is a risk of being burnt in hell fire, God Forbid!

DAY 5

Isaiah 61:9 – Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the LORD has blessed.” (NIV)

Every tree has a seed to reproduce itself, it can come in various forms. But for continuity, there has to be reproduction by seeds.

As human “trees of righteousness”, our seeds are our children, our offspring. They need to be taught in the way of the Lord, so they can reflect the righteousness of God everywhere they are found. They will be distinguished everywhere they are found.

So, we need to always pray for them, that God Himself will teach them and give them Peace as we see in Isaiah 54:13 and also train them effectively – Pro.22:6,15; Pro.23:13.

DAY 6

Isaiah 54:14 - In righteousness, you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you.  (NKJV)

As declared in our text today, I decree that you shall be established in Righteousness. You shall be far from oppression, you shall not be afraid. Terror will not come near you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. (Job 22:28)

You shall not be sick; all your iniquities shall be forgiven and cleansed by the Blood of Jesus Christ and you shall not go back to them, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. (Heb.9:14; Is.33:24; Is.30:26; Jer.50:20; Jer.31:34; Jer.30:17)

DAY 7

Isaiah 32:15-16 - Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the fruitful field is counted as a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness remain in the fruitful field.  (NKJV)

The Holy Spirit is the One that empowers us to be righteous. By our strength we will fail and fall flat – Zech.4:6.

May the Holy Spirit be released and poured afresh upon us from on high, in Jesus’ Name. Amen – Lk.11:13. By His power at work in us, we shall be fertile and fruitful in righteous works everywhere we are found (at home, workplace, market, everywhere), in Jesus’ Name – Phil.2:13.

DAY 8

Psalm 36:9-10 - For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.  (NIV)

Light is sweet; it is a pleasant thing for the eyes to behold the sun – Eccl.11:7-10. Light from God’s Word shatters all darkness in our lives.

In the Light of God’s Word, we see light for ourselves, our endeavours, our destinies, and the path to go per time – Ps.119:105.

So, let’s attend to the Word of God. Make it our best companion. It is good to talk to people and listen to them. But I noticed it is refreshing, reviving, strengthening, and soothing to attend to God’s Word, especially listening to the Audio Bible. So, if you have a smartphone, maximise the data in it to feast on the Truth of the Word of God that will shatter every darkness.

DAY 9

Hosea 14:5-6 - I will be like the dew to Israel; He shall grow like the lily, And lengthen his roots like Lebanon. His branches shall spread; His beauty shall be like an olive tree, And his fragrance like Lebanon.  (NKJV)

May the dew of the Holy Spirit be released on us all today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. We shall grow like the lily (sweetly scented and beautifully flowered – attractive). Lily symbolizes Love, Purity, Joy, Sincerity, Happiness, and Favour. Righteousness is very attractive. Lily is a spreading plant. May our righteousness spread far and wide, impacting all connected to us in one way or another, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Olive trees are tough. Equipped to handle drought, sub-zero temperatures, frost, and even fire, olive trees are extraordinarily resilient. Their roots are so strong that they can re-grow even when it seems as if they’ve been destroyed.

God says your beauty shall be like the Olive Tree, and your fragrance like Lebanon (sweet and grateful).

DAY 10

Amos 5:24 - But let justice run down like water; And righteousness like a mighty stream . (NKJV)

God is more interested in us acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with Him. Be just (fair, honest, no bias) in all you do; be MERCIFUL as you walk with God. Let justice flow from you like water. (Amos 5:20-24; Micah 6:8)

Let righteousness flow like a mighty stream. This Righteousness is of God, by Faith in Christ Jesus. This is the one that is acceptable to Him, and it comes with ease and not stress, because Jesus’ yoke is easy, and His burden is light. (Phil.3:9; 1Jn.2:29; Mt.11:28-30). He en-graces us - Rm.7:14-25. (Pray and receive it)!

DAY 11

Jeremiah 7:23 - But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’  (NKJV)

Obedience to God’s voice and walking in the ways He commands us are some of the features of Righteousness so that it can be well with us. (Ex.19:5; Lev.26:12; Ex.15:26; Rev.21:3)

Father God, by the Blood of Jesus Christ and the Power of the Holy Spirit, help me to obey Your Voice from the Scriptures, Your Spirit, and the servants You send to me per time, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. (Jn.5:30)

DAY 12

Psalm 84:11-12 - For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!  (NKJV)

Our God and Father is a good and just God. He requires us to walk uprightly; this guarantees His sustained blessings, grace, glory, and good things. His will is our glory not shame – Zech.2:5; Is.60:19;

Sometimes His blessings look delayed and so far, let’s just keep at being just and upright in God, His Word, and His ways, soon and very soon, our desired blessing will be released (this is when you have spiritually cleared off any demonic resistance and there still seems to be nothing coming forth) – Ps.34:10; Gen.15:1.

DAY 13

Psalm 85:8-10 - I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly. Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed.  (NKJV)

It is folly not to fear God and walk in His ways – Ps.14:1-2. Victory, Rescue, Deliverance, and Salvation are readily available to the person who fears God. It is great wisdom to Fear God and walk in righteousness – Prov.8.

A righteous person is always peaceful - Mt.5:9; Heb.12:14-17.

DAY 14

Psalm 85:11-12 - Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the LORD will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase. (NKJV)

When we live in the Truth of the Word of God, we attract His righteousness and justice from Heaven. This makes Him fight for us and we hold our Peace like He did for Israel Exodus 14 (please read the whole chapter for the full story).

His Truth sanctifies us. His Truth sets us FREE. His Truth is His Word in the Bible. (Jn.17:17; Jn.8:31-36)

DAY 15

Psalm 85:13 - Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway.  (NKJV)

Righteousness is a forerunner, it goes ahead of excellence and sustainable greatness. Remember the qualities of Righteousness, it is justifiable, virtuous, decent, good, and upright.

God is a Righteous God, and so His Footsteps are established in Righteousness. As we walk with Him and in His steps, we are also established in His Righteousness. (Gen.17:1-2)

Ours is to keep walking in righteousness, bearing fruits of righteousness – Is.54:14.  (Pray for grace to be consistent, it is not by power or might but by His Spirit – Zech.4:6).

DAY 16

Psalm 92:12-15 - The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree,   He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord   shall flourish in the courts of our God.   They shall still bear fruit in old age;   They shall be fresh and flourishing,   To declare that the Lord  is upright;   He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.  (NKJV)

As a tree, we need to be planted to be able to grow, before we can be fresh and flourishing. The House of God is the arid soil on which we are planted. In God’s House, we hear His Word and gain an understanding of life issues – Ps.73:11-17.

The water of the Word of God that is shared cleanses us. The Blood of Sprinkling puts a seal of exemption/Passover on us. Angels are present to give us our gifts and inheritances. God Himself, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all present delivering and sanctifying us. (Eph.5:26; Heb.12:18-29; Obad.1:17; Mal.3:1-4)

God’s House is the place for our spiritual growth and development that will positively impact every other area of our lives.

DAY 17

Psalm 92:15 - To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. (NKJV)

God is a straight and upright God. There is no unrighteousness in Him. There is no deceit or deception in Him.

To effectively walk with Him, we need to consistently walk in the Righteousness that is by Faith in Christ Jesus – Phil.3:9 (there is the self-imposed righteousness, that one is a filthy rag before God – Is.64:6).

This Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God (Eating the Word of God – Jer.15:16). Saturating our minds with the Word of God constantly cleanses us and makes us acceptably righteous unto God – Ps.119:9-12; Col.3:16. (Gen.17:1-2; Phil.3:9; 1Pet.1:15-19; Mt.5:48; Rm.10:17)

DAY 18

Isaiah 46:12-13 - Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are now far from my righteousness. I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away, and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.  (NIV)

The coming of Jesus Christ the Messiah, has brought God’s Righteousness very close to us. He has paid the price for our redemption from eternal destruction on the Cross. He has shed His Blood on the Cross of Calvary, we don’t need to pay any price or kill any animal to cover our sins.

He is the Lamb of God that takes away our sins – Jn.1:29-32. He wipes it away. It doesn’t exist anymore once we believe in Him and confess with our mouths, His Lordship in our lives. At any time, if we fall short of His Glory and commit sin, if we repent and confess it, He is Faithful and just to Forgive us and restore us. (1Jn.1:9)

Don’t hide that sin, don’t cover it – Pro.28:13-14. Repent, confess, and forsake it.

DAY 19

Isaiah 48:1-2 - “Hear this, O house of Jacob, Who are called by the name of Israel, And have come forth from the wellsprings of Judah; Who swear by the name of the LORD, And make mention of the God of Israel, But not in truth or in righteousness; For they call themselves after the holy city, And lean on the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is His name:   (NKJV)

God is checking our hearts and intentions, not our lip service. He is interested in the motive of our actions. Why do you do what you do? Why are you serving God today? Do you truly Love Him? Do you Love what He loves and hate what He hates; or are you seeking Him because of what you want to get from Him?

Matthew 15:8-9 says ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their  lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as  doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

May the Truth of God’s Word that endures forever be the standards of our hearts, motives, and actions, especially our worship and walk with God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. (Mt.7:15-23)

DAY 20

Psalm 119:1-3 - Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart — they do no wrong but follow his ways. (NIV)

God has given us the privilege to make our choices – Deut.30:11-20. Josh.24:14-27.

God’s blessings will be multiplied on us as we incline our hearts on Him, serve him, and obey His Voice (great unimaginable blessings).

Seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him, when you search for Him with all your heart. (Jer.29:13; Is.55:6; Deut.4:29-31)

DAY 21

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.  (NIV)

God’s Word instructs and trains us in righteousness, it equips us for good works.

We cannot live successfully well as Christians without the Word of God as a life companion. His Word empowers us to be righteous and be good examples of believers, in our words, thoughts, actions, conversations, interactions, and endeavors. (1Tim.4:12; 2Cor.6:14-17; 2Cor.7:1)

  DAY 22

2 Corinthians 15:33-34 - Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

“Bad company corrupts good character.” Evil communications corrupt good manners.  Awake from spiritual sleep and slumber. Awake from prayerlessness, wordlessness, and carnality. Let the Light of God shine in you. Wake up to pray, especially at midnight to take charge of your life, day, and endeavours.

A wise man said, “If you sleep all night, you will fail all day”. Awake to Righteousness. Awake to a Vibrant Prayer Life, Study of the Word, Sharing and Doing the Word – Eph.5:14-16.

DAY 23

Isaiah 32:17-18 - The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.  (NIV)

The promises of God to us are for this life and not another. Peace, Quietness, and Confidence are supposed to be the order of the day for us. We are to live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.

Even when there are challenges in our world, Jesus Christ of Nazareth assures us of PEACE (please read Jn.16:33). In Christ Jesus we have PEACE (get the Refreshing Moments Devotional on PEACE for more on this).

Righteousness is the bedrock of assured and sustained PEACE. (Righteousness delivers from death – Prov.11:4b).

DAY 24

Isaiah 33:15-17 - Those who walk righteously and speak what is right, who reject gain from extortion and keep their hands from accepting bribes, who stop their ears against plots of murder and shut their eyes against contemplating evil— they are the ones who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. Their bread will be supplied, and water will not fail them. Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that stretches afar.   (NIV)

Please read today’s text again and again. Meditate on it and use it to PRAY. It is so rich. There are so many things to learn from it.

My assignment for you is to make a list of all you can see as benefits of righteousness in the above scripture, and prayerfully meditate on it, till it becomes alive in you. This will give you reasons to choose to be RIGHTEOUS.

DAY 25

Psalm 15:1-2 - LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

Walking uprightly, working righteousness, and speaking the Truth in your heart is a beautiful life. It gives one great joy, blessings, and peace. You are not apprehensive, afraid, or timid, rather you are bold as a lion and will not turn away or run away from anyone or any situation, no matter how tough. (2Tim.1:7; Pro.30:30; Pro.28:1; Ps.24:3-6)

You are confident and strong because there is no skeleton in your cupboard that you are hiding from people to see.

DAY 26

Psalm 112 - Hallelujah! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commandments… Light dawns in the darkness for the upright—for the gracious, compassionate, and righteous… He does not fear bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.  (BSB)

I have an assignment for you today again: Read the entire chapter of Psalm 112. Write out all the virtues/good things you see in this Ps.112 and pray them into your life. One by one, you will see them come to pass as you live them out.

DAY 27

Proverbs 2:7 - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;  (NKJV)

Wisdom, Sound Wisdom, and Great Wisdom that cannot be destroyed are rooted in the Fear of God and righteousness.

You are well-defended when you walk uprightly – there are more with you than those that oppose you. You have God’s backing. One with God is the majority. (2 kg.6:8-23; Pro.2:11,20)

FEAR GOD! WALK UPRIGHTLY! WORK RIGHTEOUSNESS! (Please read and meditate on Isaiah 32:17)

DAY 28

Psalm 10:2 - The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.  (NKJV)

The opposite of righteousness is wickedness. It is wickedness not to Fear God, and walk in His Ways. (Pro.28:1; Eccl.7:17; Ps.55:23)

Wickedness destroys. Righteousness delivers. (Pro.11:4-6; Pro.21:6)

Intentionally and Consistently choose to be Righteous!

DAY 29

Proverbs 12:28 - In the way of righteousness is life, and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Righteousness enhances a good and peaceful life. The fruit of the righteous is a  tree of life, And he who wins souls is  wise. (Prov.11:30)

Righteousness guards the person of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner. (Pro.13:6)

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. (Prov.14:34)

DAY 30

Isaiah 33:15-17 - He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly,   He who despises the gain of oppressions,   Who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes,   Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed,   And shuts his eyes from seeing evil:
He will dwell on high;   His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks;   Bread will be given him,   His water will be sure. Your eyes will see the King in His beauty;   They will see the land that is very far off.  (NKJV)

“For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their  hands. (Is.55:12)

Righteousness is the best choice. It’s the real Kingdom Life. (Deut.30:19; Rm.14:17)

DAY 31

1 John 2:28-29 - And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.  (NKJV)

And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure… Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous… Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. (1Jn.3:1-10)

Practise Righteousness! Make it your settled way of thinking, especially the Righteousness that is by Faith in Christ Jesus. This comes by feasting daily on the Truth of the Word of God, which sets us FREE from all iniquity, unrighteousness, and wickedness. (Phil.3:9; Rm.10:17; Jn.8:31-36)

RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A WALK. IT IS ALSO GOOD WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE HEARTILY AND INTENTIONALLY DONE. It is a work that is worth your while and pays here and in the hereafter.

IT COMES BY FAITH WHICH COMES BY HEARING AND HEARING THE WORD OF GOD. (Hearing and internalizing the Word until it becomes flesh in you. And you start to move in the direction of the Word you have received).

YOU CAN NEVER GET TIRED OF HEARING THE WORD OF GOD.
